Rennes and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, for a deal worth €31 million that could rise to over €40 million with add-ons.
The French midfielder has completed his medicals for the new club and is going to be announced as a new Real Madrid player before the day is over. Camavinga was pursued by PSG and Manchester United throughout the summer, but he chose Real Madrid over the two on deadline day.
Madrid were in the headlines for their attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe in the last few days. However, the deal fell through since PSG were not ready to accept their offer of €180 million. Now, Mbappe will possibly join the capital club next summer as a free agent.
Camavinga, on the other hand, was in a similar predicament to Mbappe with only one year remaining on his current contract. The 18-year-old is now on his way to his dream club, and Madrid have got themselves a bargain deal for the talent the youngster is showing as a teenager.
Los Blancos made a surprise bid for the player over the night, and they finalised the talks with Renens very quickly. There is no loan involved, and Camavinga will sign as a permanent member of the Real Madrid squad. Camavinga is France’s youngest player, as well as goalscorer in over 100 years, and he could establish himself as one of the best in the world at his new club.
