# Edits Film Festival Concludes, Highlighting Emerging Creator Talent and Industry Perspectives

The Edits Film Festival, an initiative to showcase emerging content creators, recently concluded in Mumbai. The event recognized three individuals for their innovative storytelling and creative use of Instagram’s video editing application, Edits. Filmmaker Farah Khan served as a special guest, sharing insights on content creation, while a panel of industry judges including Ahsaas Channa, Dolly Singh, Nikhil Taneja, and Rajeev Masand evaluated submissions.

The festival convened over 100 content creators, fostering a dialogue on digital storytelling and production techniques. The objective of the festival was to identify and celebrate creators who effectively transform unpolished footage into engaging narratives using the Edits platform.

The top honors at the festival were awarded to Ishank Gupta, Sanya Rohillaa, and Ahsan Vazir. Each creator was recognized for their distinctive approaches to storytelling and their adept utilization of the Edits application features. Their submissions were selected by the judging panel from a pool of entries received over a 45-day submission period, which encouraged creators to craft content from raw camera roll footage.

Ankit Rihal, Head of Global Partnerships at Meta India, commented on the festival’s role. “Enabling creators with the right tools, platforms, and opportunities is central to what we do,” Rihal stated. “The festival opened up new creative possibilities, encouraging creators to experiment with features they hadn’t used before and tell stories in fresh ways. We’re thankful to our jury members and to Farah Khan for the invaluable perspective she shared on her storytelling journey.”

## Farah Khan Emphasizes Spontaneity in Digital Content

A key highlight of the festival was a conversation with renowned filmmaker Farah Khan, who discussed her methodology for content creation across both feature films and short-form digital content, such as Instagram Reels. Khan underscored the importance of an unscripted approach.

“People assume there’s a big plan behind it, but I don’t overthink what I post,” Khan explained. “Gen Z has inspired me — they’re so nonchalant about it, no second-guessing. Be it a clip from my show, a random chat, or a bit of mischief on the spot, everything is spontaneous for me.
