Edinson Cavani yet to make up his mind on the future amidst Boca rumours

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani was the subject of heavy transfer rumours during the winter transfer window. The Uruguayan was linked with a move back to South America at the end of the season, with Boca Juniors reportedly being interested in bringing the player back to the continent.

Speaking on the topic, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had this to say:

“We keep an open dialogue with Cavani. He’s still unsure what he wants to do, which I find fine”.

“It’s not been easy year either for him or the rest of the world, this season, so he still wants time to make his mind up.”

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Boca Juniors are still interested in trying to sign Cavani, and are willing to offer him a two-year deal. As mentioned before, Cavani is taking his time to make his decision and is committed to Manchester United until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has provided 6 goals and 2 assists in 19 appearances in the Premier League, and has been an excellent backup option to the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who play up front. With the Frenchman out for the rest of the campaign, Cavani is expected to be called upon more regularly to be a part of the United frontline.

The Red Devils have the option of extending his contract for another year, but whether or not that mutual agreement is reached will have to wait till the end of the ongoing season.
