Eden Hazard suffers another injury setback at Real Madrid

Eden Hazard was arguably the best player in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea. He was used to playing all the matches in a season and didn’t have a serious injury record.

Real Madrid signed the Belgium international from Chelsea in 2019 for an initial fee of €100m, which later rose to €160m. But since his arrival at Santiago Bernabeu, he has spent most of his time in the sidelines and has played only 24 times in LaLiga.

Real Madrid has now released an official statement on the recent injury of Hazard. They stated: “After the tests carried out today on our player Eden Hazard by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the left anterior rectus. Pending evolution.”

According to various reports, Hazard is set to be sidelined for four to six weeks, which means he will most probably miss Real Madrid’s Champions League tie against Atalanta on 24th February.

Hazard was hailed as the successor of Cristiano Ronaldo, but sadly he is turning out to be the heir of Gareth Bale. It seems Madrid has made a mistake by spending such a large sum of money on the Belgian captain.

Hazard, himself was quite frustrated with his first year at Madrid and termed the last season as the worst season of his career. Unfortunately, his second season is also turning out to be the same as he has been again sidelined with injuries.
