Eden Hazard could return to his roots, with a move back to Lille emerging as a potential way out for him from Real Madrid. According to Marca, Lille are willing to offer Los Blancos their star player, Jonathan David, in exchange for Hazard.

The Lille forward is playing his last season in Ligue 1, according to his agent. He has scored 16 in 27 appearances across all competitions, and has a contract running until 2025.

Whether or not the Spanish giants will offer cash as part of the deal as well, is something that remains to be seen. But, David has emerged as one of the top talents for the French champions. And they will have to sell him if he doesn’t want to continue, and it seems like that will be the case according to his agent.

Jonathan David scored his 12th goal of the season last night meaning he enters 2022 as Ligue 1 top scorer.

The 21-year-old celebrated his winner with a tribute to his late mother who passed away two years ago. A rose raised in tribute of Rose, his mother.

Eden Hazard’s fall from grace at Real Madrid

The Belgian winger departed Chelsea as one of their best ever players. It seemed like he would end up being one of the best in the world at Real Madrid, but things have not gone according to plan for the player.

Injuries have hindered his progress at the Spanish capital, and he has missed more games than he has played with his dream club.

And now, it seems like he has been deemed surplus to requirements and could be on his way out alongside a number of other fringe players for the club. And in his stead, David could be a perfect heir to Karim Benzema’s position up front, leading the line for the years to come.
