Eddie Nketiah has agreed to renew his contract with Arsenal for the next five years. His new deal will run until June 2027, after his entourage and Arsenal reached an agreement on personal terms to continue.

The player has also been given a new squad number as a part of his new deal. He will be taking over Thierry Henry’s iconic number 14 shirt, which was previously worn by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who left for Barcelona.

Eddie Nketiah to renew contract with Arsenal until 2027

Up until April, the youngster failed to make a single start in a Premier League game under Mikel Arteta. But with Alexandre Lacazette struggling for form, Eddie Nketiah was eventually given an opportunity – which he took very well.

In eight starts, he scored five goals including a brace against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. As a result, he managed to show fans what he is capable of when in form. But he will have to keep it going for the coming season, with the focus now on him.

Arsenal are having a very busy transfer window, having already confirmed the signings of Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira. They are working to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City as well, alongside Youri Tielemans from Leicester. Several players deemed surplus to requirements are also expected to leave the club as Arteta aims to build a new squad for the coming season.
