The Red & Gold Brigade step into the knockouts with a point to prove, and standing in their way is an Army Red side that simply refuses to lose. Here’s everything you need for the **East Bengal FC vs Army Red** Durand Cup Quarter-final.

## Match Overview

East Bengal FC arrive on a mixed bag of form — thumping wins of 5-0 over South United and 8-0 against CISF Protectors, sandwiched around a narrow loss to fierce rivals Mohun Bagan SG. It’s clear their attack is firing, even if consistency against top-tier sides remains a question.

Army Red, on the other hand, are the tournament’s quiet overachievers. They haven’t lost in five matches, backing that run with a 4-0 hammering of Banaras Baghpat and a gritty 2-1 win over Mohammedan SC. This clash is part of the historic [Durand Cup](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durand_Cup), Asia’s oldest football tournament, and a spot in the semis is on the line.

## Form Guide

East Bengal’s goal-scoring numbers look impressive on paper, but their only loss came against direct rivals, hinting they can be rattled by disciplined, well-organised opposition — exactly the profile Army Red fits. Army Red’s unbeaten five-match run shows resilience under pressure, a trait that often matters more than raw firepower in knockout football.

## Prediction

Expect a tightly contested affair. East Bengal’s attacking depth gives them the edge on paper, but Army Red’s unbeaten streak and knockout temperament could make this a low-scoring nail-biter that goes down to the wire.
