East Bengal have confirmed five first team departures at the end of the season, with Mandar Rao Desai, Victor Vazquez, Felicio Brown Forbes, Ajay Chhetri and Aleksandar Pantic all exiting at the end of their respective contracts.

Victor, Felicio and Pantic were signed for the second half of the season after the club’s Kalinga Super Cup win. However, the attacking duo failed to provide the impact that was expected of them to achieve a top six finish. Pantic, on the other hand, was played often in defence, but was always considered a short-term solution.

East Bengal announce departures of five first team players

Now that the club has confirmed the players that will be leaving, it seems certain that they have retained their key foreigners. Which means Cleiton Silva, Saul Crespo and Hijazi Maher will be staying at the club for the coming season.

The Red and Gold side have made some incredible moves in the transfer market over the past few weeks. They have signed the ISL’s best playmaker in Madih Talal and the Golden Boot winner, Dimitrios Diamantakos, to bolster their squad for the coming season.

The club has also been quite active in recruiting domestic talents, with David Lalhansanga, Mark Zothanpuia, Provat Lakra and Debjit Majumder all joining for the coming season.
