Last year, Google altered its device launch timeline by moving the Pixel 9 series debut from its usual October slot to August, strategically placing it ahead of Apple’s annual iPhone reveal in September. This shift also led to a change in the release schedule for Android, with Google now preparing to roll out Android 16 in stable form this month, just in time for the Pixel 10 series to launch with it pre-installed.

Early Pixel 10 Pro Leak Reveals Android 16, Tensor G5 Chip, and Subtle Design Tweaks Before Launch

Leaks point to a potential Pixel 10 launch event on August 13. Early images of what appears to be the Pixel 10 Pro, posted by a user on the Chinese platform Coolapk and amplified by Mystic Leaks on Telegram, show that not much has changed, aesthetically, from the Pixel 9 Pro. A side-by-side comparison displays both phones with an identical triple rear camera layout (wide, ultrawide, and telephoto) along with an LED flash, a temperature sensor, and it’s all housed in a camera bar that’s practically the same size for both devices.

On the front, the Pixel 10 Pro has the same bezels and camera cutout as its predecessor. The mmWave antenna remains in its top position. However, there may be one visible tweak— in the form of a second bottom speaker that Google appears to be introducing, and a SIM tray placement that has been moved.

Further reinforcing the credibility of the leak are the diagnostic screenshots from DevCheck Pro, which indicate device specs, including Widevine DRM support, a Tensor G5 processor boasting an eight-core configuration (comprising Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A725 cores), and Android 16 (known as Baklava) as the operating system.

Interestingly, the DVT unit labels the Tensor G5 as a 5nm chip, though it’s known to be based on a 3nm process, so some skepticism is warranted. In terms of pricing and color options, the Pixel 10 base and Pro XL models could see a $100 increase. Colorways include Blue, Iris, Limoncello, and Obsidian for the base model, while the Pro models are expected in Green, Sterling, Porcelain, and Obsidian.
