The next Iron Man video game from EA will be created with Epic Games‘ Unreal Engine 5. The third full game released by EA Motive since its founding in 2015 will be Iron Man. Before launching its first stand-alone game, Star Wars: Squadrons, in 2020, the firm initially helped DICE and Criterion Games with Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Most recently, the Dead Space remake by Motive was published earlier this year to positive reviews and is widely regarded as one of the finest video games of 2023.

For many third-party development studios as well as some first-party studios, Unreal Engine 5 has emerged as one of the most often utilized tools. The Matrix Awakens, developed by The Coalition and released by PlayStation and Xbox in late 2021, was one of the stunning tech demos that Epic Games produced in collaboration with The Coalition before the game’s release. Some significant video games that were created using the engine have now been released this year. Some of the first Unreal Engine 5 games to be released include Immortals of Aveum, Fort Solis, and the recently released Soulslike Lords of the Fallen.

Iron Man will be Motive’s first Game based on a Third-party software

The list of upcoming Unreal Engine 5 games can now include one more thrilling title. General Manager Patrick Klaus of EA Motive announced that Unreal Engine 5 will be used in the creation of the studio’s forthcoming Iron Man game in a blog post update.

The Frostbite engine produced by EA was used to create Motive’s Star Wars: Squadrons and Dead Space remake. Klaus also mentioned that Iron Man is still in the pre-production phase, which makes sense given that Dead Space was only recently released.

In the past, EA’s Frostbite engine has come under fire for causing troubles with some EA games, including Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem. Frostbite was partly to blame for Visceral Games’ 2017 shutdown. Iron Man should probably switch to Unreal 5, even though Motive has had success with Frostbite for Star Wars: Squadrons and Dead Space. As part of Iron Man’s crucial aerial movement in Unreal 5, Motive could be able to draw on its experience working on Dead Space’s zero gravity parts from Frostbite.
