Those planning to buy Dying Light 2 on February 4, 2022, and beyond will be pleased (or horrified) to learn that the game will take “at least 500 hours” to complete.
The sequel to Techland’s 2015 first-person zombie action survival horror game is “nearly as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid,” according to Dying Light’s Twitter. For those who are curious, the walk would take approximately 534 hours.
This news went viral on the internet, and some people thought 500 hours would be a difficult task to complete. Techland soon assuaged those anxieties by stating that the massive amount of time it took to get to 100% was achieved by doing everything and that most players will be able to complete the main story and side objectives in under 100 hours.
“500 hours is related to maxing out the game – finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don’t worry,” Techland wrote.
The developer stated in a follow-up tweet that “if you’re not in a hurry,” Dying Light 2’s plot and side objectives should take around 70-80 hours to finish.
According to howlongtobeat.com, the main story in Dying Light takes 17.5 hours to complete, the main story and extras 35 hours, and a completionist run 55 hours. The makers are going all out for this new game.
