Max Verstappen picked up a second consecutive win in the Dutch Grand Prix, adding another 25 points to his season. The defending world champion was cheered on by his home fans, as he won yet another battle with Lewis Hamilton following a safety car.
The Dutchman had a comfortable lead for the majority of the race, and some important decisions during the race made it possible for him to win the race from pole position. George Russel was the fastest in the track, and took second place while Charles Leclerc finished third.

Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda had a very bizarre day. He stopped on track claiming he had issues with his wheel, but was ordered to carry on by his team. After a pit over 30s, he could only take a few turns before retiring.
“I thought there was an issue. For me, it was quite clear [there was a problem] at the left rear, so I got told by my engineer to stop.
“But we didn’t see any clear issue in the data. That is why we rejoined to get back to the pits to fit a new tyre.
“After that, we saw a clear issue in the data, that is why we stopped.
“When I accelerated from the pit exit, it felt like only one wheel was having wheelspin. For me, it was like I was drifting down the straight, countersteering down the straight.
“So I didn’t think it was normal.”
As a result, the virtual safety car was put into place and the Dutch Grand Prix that could have been a battle between Mercedes and Red Bull got flipped on its head.
