Some K-drama premieres go big with action or mystery. **Dream to You** goes small and warm instead — opening with a high school transfer story that quietly plants the seed for everything the leads become.

## What Dream To You Preview Shows?

The newly released first-episode preview introduces **Woo Soo Bin** (Hwang In Youp) and **Joo Yi Jae** (Hyeri) as high schoolers, right after Soo Bin transfers to Yi Jae’s school. She immediately pushes him on what his dream is, visibly startled when he admits he doesn’t have one — insisting that every guy needs some kind of ambition. He eventually reveals he’s expected to follow his father and grandfather into medicine, though he admits he isn’t particularly strong academically.

The real charm comes when the dynamic flips: Yi Jae, who grew up in Gyeongsang Province, gets thrown off by Soo Bin’s Seoul manner of speaking, especially the easy familiarity of him using her first name. She warns him that doing so locally implies romantic interest — advice he playfully ignores anyway, leaving her flustered. When he finally asks about her dream, she answers with enthusiasm: becoming a film director, a moment that quietly foreshadows the adults these two will grow into.

## Why This Setup Works

Reunion romances live or die on whether the origin story feels earned, and this preview leans into small, specific details — dialect differences, unspoken nervousness, a dream stated out loud for the first time — rather than big dramatic beats. It’s a classic setup echoed across [Korean dramas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_drama), where slow-burn nostalgia often carries as much emotional weight as the present-day plot.
