Girona have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign Donny van de Beek on a permanent deal. The Spanish side have finalised a transfer fee worth just €500,000 up-front, but have also included a number of add-ons in the deal that could take it up to €15 million.
The Premier League giants have also inserted a sell-on clause in the deal, for a percentage of any future fee Girona receive for the former Ajax star.

The 27-year-old has tried to revive his career after being put on the sidelines at Old Trafford several times. He has spent time on loan at Everton, and Eintracht Frankfurt this past season. However, things just haven’t clicked for him at either club.
With a permanent switch to Girona now finalised, he could now turn things around by having peace of mind of a permanent destination. The midfielder has agreed to a contract till 2028 with the LaLiga side, and will complete the formalities of the deal soon.
Girona, on paper, is a great destination for Donny van de Beek as their philosophy of free-flowing football matches the 27-year-old’s strengths. Now, it remains to be seen how he fits in under Michel as the replacement for Aleix Garcia, who left for Bayer Leverkusen.
