The Bollywood rumour mill went into overdrive this week, with reports suggesting Salman Khan had quietly stepped in to patch things up between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over the [Don 3](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_3) fallout. Turns out? That never happened. Let’s break down what actually went down — and why this saga is far messier than a simple spat.

## What Really Happened with Don 3?

Ranveer Singh was announced as the lead of *Don 3* back in 2023, but a series of scheduling conflicts and professional reprioritizations led to a complete breakdown. Here’s the full timeline at a glance:

| Timeline | What Happened |
| --- | --- |
| Post *Rocky Aur Rani…* | Farhan wanted to begin *Don 3* immediately |
| Mid-period | Ranveer committed to SLB’s *Baiju Bawra* & Prasanth Varma’s project |
| Late 2025 | Ranveer prioritized *Dhurandhar* for career repositioning |
| December 20, 2025 | Ranveer officially backed out — just 3 weeks before shoot |

According to industry insiders, Ranveer’s logic was clear: after a rough patch at the box office, *Dhurandhar* felt like the smarter bet to rebuild his standing before stepping into the iconic Don shoes.

## Salman Khan Mediation? Busted.

Reports had been swirling that Salman Khan personally called both parties to broker peace. HT City flatly denied this, with sources confirming no such mediation took place. The speculation, while juicy, was simply not true.

Salman’s name getting dragged in makes sense given his larger-than-life industry clout — but even Bhai has limits on what drama he signs up for.

## The FWICE Ban & Industry Fallout

The controversy snowballed when the Film Writers, Actors, and Craftsmen’s Association (FWICE) issued a ban on Ranveer Singh, citing professional misconduct. Director Ram Gopal Varma publicly backed Ranveer, even calling for a counter-ban on FWICE itself. ## What’s Next for Ranveer Singh?

Despite the controversy, Ranveer’s career trajectory looks upward. *Dhurandhar* performed well, and he’s reportedly the frontrunner for Aditya Dhar’s next ambitious project. On the personal front, he and Deepika Padukone are expecting their second child — so life beyond Don 3 seems just fine.
