Tottenham finally have their Harry Kane replacement in Dominic Solanke, with the Bournemouth striker joining for a £65 million fee. This will be Spurs’ record signing, as well as Bournemouth’s record sale.

The deal has been fully agreed between the two parties, and is set to be finalised over the coming days. Solanke had a £65 million release clause in his contract, but was only valid for the top clubs in the Premier League.

Dominic Solanke to sign for Tottenham from Bournemouth

Solanke was keen on the transfer as he wanted to play under Ange Postecoglou. And now, he has agreed a six-year contract till 2030 with the London club.

Interestingly, he started his career with their rivals, Chelsea, but couldn’t break into the first team properly. As a result, he moved to Liverpool, where he spent two years. The Merseysiders could earn up to £9 million through a sell-on clause, before joining Bournemouth.

Solanke was one of the top goalscorers in the Premier League last season, racking up 19 goals to help the Cherries finish 12th in what was his best return. He could be exactly what the Lilywhites need heading into the new season, given Richarlison’s injuries, and Spurs’ need for a recognised centre-forward to inherit the spot left behind by Kane.

How long has Solanke been at Bournemouth?

Five years, since 2019
