TV CHOSUN’s upcoming medical thriller *Doctor Shin* hasn’t even premiered yet, and the supporting cast is already turning heads in the best possible way. Three actors — Song Ji In, Jeon No Min, and Ji Young San — have unveiled dramatic character transformations that look nothing like anything they’ve done before. And honestly? We’re hooked.

## What Is *Doctor Shin* About?

*Doctor Shin* is a bold medical thriller centred on a genius doctor who pushes medicine into territory once considered godlike — and a woman whose brain is mysteriously damaged overnight, causing her to slowly lose herself. Woven around a top star who falls into a coma after a tragic accident, the drama dives deep into love, obsession, taboo, and sacrifice. Think medical drama meets psychological thriller, with a love triangle burning underneath it all.

## Meet the Transformations That Are Already Generating Buzz

The production team revealed that all three actors were *personally requested* by the drama’s writer, Phoebe — and one look at these character stills, it’s easy to see why.

| Actor | Character | Transformation Highlight |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Song Ji In | Hyun Ran Hee | Voluminous perm, glamorous styling, extreme maternal energy |
| Jeon No Min | James | Sleek pomade hair, dandy fashion — a top celebrity stylist with attitude |
| Ji Young San | Paul Kim | Long hair tied back, sorrowful gaze — a painter returning from Germany with baggage |

**Song Ji In** plays Hyun Ran Hee, a gallery director and fiercely devoted mother. The perm hairstyle and bold fashion choices signal a character who commands every room she walks into — a total contrast to her previous roles.

**Jeon No Min** brings charisma as James, a famous stylist and CEO whose “neat pomade hairstyle and unique way of speaking” (per the production team) is already generating curiosity online. Fans of his work in *First Lady* will find this role a refreshing new dimension.

**Ji Young San** takes on Paul Kim, a brooding painter with a complicated past. The sorrowful gaze alone in the stills is doing a lot of emotional storytelling — this character clearly carries wounds he hasn’t unpacked yet.

The production team called these three actors’ scenes “key highlights” of the drama, and given the chemistry already visible in the stills, that’s a promise worth believing. Korean medical thrillers have become one of the genre’s most compelling formats — if you’re new to the world of K-dramas, [Wikipedia’s overview of Korean drama](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_drama) is a great place to start.
