Most MCU villains fail because they go it alone. Doctor Doom seems determined not to repeat that mistake. After visiting Bruce Banner in an *Avengers: Endgame Encore* post-credits scene and magically whisking him away, it’s clear Doom is recruiting. So who else is on his list?

## Doom’s Possible Roster : Overview

| Candidate | Why Doom Wants Them | Source of Power |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Maestro Hulk** | Tyrannical Hulk who admires Doom in the comics | Gamma strength |
| **Clea** | Could become a Latverian Witch | Sorcery |
| **Jean Grey** | Phoenix Force threat; has a *Secret Wars* role reported | Telepathy, Phoenix |
| **Thanos** | Instant credibility for Doom | Cosmic might |
| **Loki** | Better as an asset than an enemy | Magic, multiverse ties |
| **Mephisto** | Demon known for dealing with Doom’s mother | Soul bargains |
| **The Leader** | Genius who foresaw Doom’s arrival | Intellect |

## Muscle and Magic: Hulk and Clea

Banner locked himself away after *Brand New Day*, and he’s done with mind control. Doom’s best shot may be turning him into Maestro, a tyrant who deeply respects Latveria’s ruler in the comics. As a Master of the Mystic Arts, Doom has the tools.

Clea, meanwhile, made her MCU debut recruiting Doctor Strange to stop an incursion. Doom could easily have learned her plans and turned her into one of the Latverian Witches featured in *Doomsday* marketing.

## Power Players: Jean Grey, Thanos and Loki

After causing chaos in New York, Jean Grey is already tied to the *X-Men* reboot, and trades reported that Sadie Sink has a role in *Secret Wars*. Doom clearly watches the multiverse’s strongest beings.

A Thanos variant would instantly raise Doom’s villain stock, while Loki, who sacrificed himself to hold the multiverse together, may be forced into service rather than eliminated.

## Wild Cards: Mephisto and The Leader

Mephisto appeared in *Ironheart* and, in the comics, once made a deal with Doom’s mother, Cynthia. Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader, practically predicted Doom’s arrival in *Captain America: Brave New World*‘s post-credits scene, and he’d bring serious brainpower.
