Doctor Doom hasn’t had much luck on the big screen. In earlier *Fantastic Four* films, he lost too easily or barely made an impact. Marvel Studios seems determined to fix that, and one short scene may have done more for his reputation than two full movies.

## Avengers: Doomsday: The Scene That Changed Everything

To bring fans back for *Avengers: Endgame*, Marvel re-released it as *Avengers Endgame: Encore* with bonus *Doomsday*-related scenes. The surprise was a moment with Bruce Banner after the events of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*.

Still guilt-ridden over what happened at Damage Control headquarters, Bruce is trying to fix his Hulk problem and filming his experiments. In his final recording, a green light fills his cell and Doctor Doom’s voice takes over. Bruce hulks out, and then the cell is empty. We never see the fight, but the message is clear: Doom won and teleported him away.

## A True “Thanos Moment”

Think back to *Avengers: Infinity War*. Thanos spent his early MCU days working through others, then stepped in personally and crushed the Hulk to prove he was serious. Doom’s first villainous act mirrors that, with Bruce Banner on the receiving end again.

That’s smart storytelling. Beating the strongest Avenger early tells audiences everything about how dangerous a villain is before the main event even begins.

## Brains and Brawn

What makes Doom scarier is that he isn’t just strong. He’s also a brilliant scientist and a master of magic, a combination that makes him far more threatening than a villain who relies on muscle alone. Heavy hitters like Sentry and Magneto should probably be watching their backs.

There’s a fun twist, too. Fans may enjoy the Thanos comparison, but Doom likely hopes it ends there, since the Mad Titan didn’t exactly walk away happily at the end of his story.

If this is the standard Marvel is setting, *Doomsday* could finally give Doom the big-screen reputation comic fans have waited decades for.
