Fans are eagerly anticipating Chidambaram’s Bollywood debut, expecting him to maintain his distinctive narrative style and attract a wider audience.

Chidambaram, celebrated for his successful Malayalam movie, prepares to make his Hindi directorial debut with Phantom Studios. He achieved nationwide fame following the release of “Manjummel Boys,” which, with an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore, became the first Malayalam film to exceed Rs 200 crore at the box office, ranking among the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024.

Director Chidambaram is all set to make Bollywood debut with Phantom Studios

Phantom Studios was enthusiastic about this partnership, praising the famous director’s remarkable accomplishments and noting how his vision aligns with their dedication to concept-driven narratives and fostering talented directors. They emphasized his record-breaking storytelling prowess and are eager to create cinematic magic together in Hindi cinema.

Phantom Studios’ CEO expressed excitement about bringing Chidambaram on board, highlighting the studio’s commitment to nurturing directors’ creative visions. He pointed out that in today’s evolving film industry, where language barriers are fading, Phantom Studios seeks to incorporate unique perspectives from different regions into Hindi cinema, aiming to create stories that go beyond linguistic limits.

Details about the director’s Hindi directorial debut are still being kept secret. His film “Manjummel Boys,” inspired by a true event and produced by Parava Films, follows a group of friends from the small town of Manjummel near Kochi as they plan a vacation in Kodaikanal. Released on February 22 in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the film garnered widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics. It is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Fans are thrilled, with one stating, “That’s such great news,” while another commented, “Something huge is coming.”
