Diogo Dalot is in line for a new Manchester United contract, with his current deal expected to run out next year. He has been one of the best players for the club this season, and leads the team in terms of important metrics.

Some of them include the most chances created, most tackles, most ball recoveries, as well as most touches of the ball in the entirety of the team. And for his impressive performances, he has become the first-choice right-back for Erik Ten Hag.

The player spent a season on loan at AC Milan two years ago, and that saw him get called up to the Portugal national team. Now, he is in line to be the starting right-back for Portugal at the World Cup.

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan were among the teams that inquired about him earlier this year. However, keeping him has resulted in Manchester United unearthing a huge talent. Diogo Dalot has by far been one of the biggest beneficiaries of Erik Ten Hag’s plans.

The new contract that the board are planning for the defender is yet to be finalised. However, the current deal also has an option to extend until 2024, which is why the club isn’t panicking to renew his contract with improved terms.
