Diogo Dalot extends contract with Manchester United until 2028

Diogo Dalot has officially renewed his contract with Manchester United, with an announcement from the club confirming the same. His new deal runs until June 2028, with the option for another year.

The Portugal international has been on the waiting list for a new deal for months. And after long conversations with the board, he has now put pen to paper on the contract. He has been one of the best players under Erik Ten Hag, but his injuries have prevented him from contributing during the final part of the season.

“As a group of players, we all feel like we are at the start of a special journey right now,” Diogo Dalot told the club’s official website.

“I can assure you that I will dedicate myself relentlessly to helping this group to achieve our aims and make the fans proud of this team.”

Dalot was originally signed by the club from Porto in 2018, but was loaned out to Milan in 2020. After impressing on loan with the Rossoneri, he returned in 2021 and has found his footing since Ten Hag arrived.

After their right-back, Manchester United are looking to extend the contracts of David De Gea as well as Marcus Rashford in the coming weeks.
