Dimitrios Diamantakos will be joining East Bengal after his Golden Boot winning season with Kerala Blasters in 2023, TOI’s Marcus Mergulhao has confirmed. The striker will sign a two-year contract with the Red and Gold side, and will be registered when the transfer window opens on June 12.
The player left Kerala Blasters at the end of his two-year contract, refusing to extend his deal with them in spite of being offered a renewal. And now, he will be playing continental football with East Bengal, who have qualified for the AFC Champions League 2 Qualifiers after their Kalinga Super Cup win.

The Greek striker is exactly what East Bengal need, considering their wastefulness in front of goal in the last few seasons. Cleiton Silva has been the side’s saving grace, almost single-handedly guiding them to the Kalinga Super Cup with five goals in the tournament, while scoring eight in the ISL.
Silva is currently 37, and will likely stay for another season before leaving the club. As his replacement, Diamantakos is the perfect candidate, at the peak of his abilities at 31.
