Kerala Blasters striker Dimitrios Diamantakos is set to leave the club, after winning the Golden Boot award with them this past season. The striker is expected to continue in India, however, and East Bengal are in the race to sign the prolific forward.

The Blasters tried to renew his contract several times with an improved offer, but the forward did not renew his deal. And now, it seems like he will start a new chapter with another ISL club.

Dimitrios Diamantakos inching closer to East Bengal transfer

This past season, the former Greece international scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 17 league games, alongside three goals in as many Kalinga Super Cup games for Kerala Blasters.

East Bengal in particular can offer Dimitrios Diamantakos the chance to play in the AFC Champions League 2 Qualifiers, having won the Kalinga Super Cup. And that could be one of the reasons their offer has more weight.

There are rumours of a two-year contract on the table, involving a massive salary for the striker considering his achievements this past season. With Madih Talal also joining the club, East Bengal could emerge as contenders for the ISL Shield from the coming season itself.
