Wolves are preparing the next steps in order to sign [Diego Costa](https://www.transfermarkt.co.in/diego-costa/profil/spieler/44779) on a free transfer. The player was [expected to complete his move](https://technosports.co.in/2022/09/05/diego-costa-in-talks-with-wolves-pl/) several days ago. A medical had been scheduled in England for the striker, but he was not allowed a work permit by the government.

The club appealed the decision, and have had their request to overturn it accepted. Now, they are working to complete the transfer of the former Spain international in the coming days. The player will travel to England today to discuss the final details of the contract before to achieve a full agreement.

Costa has been a free agent since leaving Athletico Paranaense in Brazil back in January. He will be offered a one-year contract by the Midlands club, in order to cover the season.

Following injuries to both Raul Jimenez and new signing Sasa Kalajdzic on his debut, the club has been left short-staffed in attack. And as a result, they have identified the former Chelsea striker as a short-term solution since Kalajdzic will be out for a while given his ACL injury.

The medical for Diego Costa is scheduled on Thursday, and after that, it will be only a matter of time before the transfer is made official by the club.
