Birthdays are usually about receiving gifts, but Dhanush flipped the script — on his 43rd birthday, July 28, 2026, the makers of **Om** dropped its first single, **Alaakaa Loova**, as a gift straight to fans. And going by the buzz, it’s already a certified party anthem.

### What Makes Alaakaa Loova Special?

The track is an upbeat dance number that weaves in a local Tamil dialect, giving it a earthy, festive flavor. Written by Rokesh and composed by Sai Abhyankkar, the song is sung by Abhyankkar himself alongside Francis, with the Kataaka Choral Ensemble lending female vocals. Set against a festival backdrop, the visuals show Dhanush in high-energy dance mode — complete with his now-signature funky hairstyle — while [Mammootty](https://www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/south/mammootty-confirms-working-on-vampire-movie-next-says-it-will-blow-your-mind-1402573) makes a brief but memorable cameo.

### Om — The Film Behind the Song

Om is billed as the first chapter of a planned action-drama duology, directed by Amaran filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy. Besides Dhanush and Mammootty, the cast includes Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi as female leads, with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah marking a comeback to Tamil cinema. While the film is currently dated for October 16, 2026, reports suggest the makers may be reconsidering the release window — though nothing’s confirmed yet.

### Dhanush’s Packed Work Slate

Dhanush was last seen in *Kara*, an action thriller that received mixed-to-positive reviews. Beyond Om, he has projects lined up with directors Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and Mari Selvaraj, plus a fresh collaboration with Vetrimaaran titled *Thamizh Murugan*.
