## A Renewal That Was Never in Doubt

Renewal for *Devil May Cry* was confirmed only a week after its debut on Netflix, thanks in part to a demonic start in its first week with 5.3 million views. Creator Adi Shankar had always planned a multi-season arc, with the likeliest scenario being a two-season order from the beginning.

A fresh trailer dropped on March 25, 2026, alongside two stunning posters featuring Dante and Vergil — and the hype is absolutely justified. For all things anime and gaming entertainment, stay updated with [TechnoSports](https://technosports.co.in).

## What Happens in Season 2?

Despite Dante defeating the White Rabbit and stopping the plot to merge Hell and Earth in Season 1, Mary tricked Dante into letting his guard down — and he was subsequently incapacitated by a DARKCOM warrior. His father’s sword and amulet were moved to separate locations, leaving Dante frozen in DARKCOM’s facility as Season 2 begins.

The bigger story, though, belongs to Vergil. Dante’s older twin brother — long believed to be dead — is very much alive and has fully embraced his demon heritage. With humanity launching a ruthless war against Hell, Vergil has become one of the strongest warriors fighting on the side of the demons. He is the storm, and a reckoning is coming. Had humanity left the White Rabbit’s technology alone, they could have lived in relative peace. But Vice President William Baines led the charge to strike first against the demons, starting a war not seen for millennia — one that may unify all of Hell’s forces under King Mundus against them.

## Should You Be Excited?

Absolutely. Season 1 proved that the *Devil May Cry* anime isn’t just for fans of the games — it’s a gripping, stylish, and emotionally layered action series that stands on its own. With Vergil now centre stage and Dante in chains, Season 2 has all the ingredients to be even better.
