**Maharashtra has spoken — loudly.** *Deool Band 2*, the devotional comedy drama helmed by Pravin Tarde, has delivered what may be the biggest story of this box office weekend. And this isn’t a Bollywood film. This isn’t a pan-India release. This is pure, powerful [Marathi cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathi_cinema) doing what it does best — speaking directly to the heart of its audience.

## Deool Band 2 Day-Wise Box Office Collections — A Record-Breaking Run

*Deool Band 2* smashed a banger opening weekend of Rs. 18.50 crore, with its biggest day coming on Sunday at Rs. 7 crore. That makes it the second-best opening weekend for a Marathi film, only lagging behind Riteish Deshmukh’s *Raja Shivaji*.

| Day | Box Office Collection |
| --- | --- |
| Day 1 (Thursday) | Rs. 2.75 crore |
| Day 2 (Friday) | Rs. 3.00 crore |
| Day 3 (Saturday) | Rs. 5.75 crore |
| Day 4 (Sunday) | Rs. 7.00 crore |
| **4-Day Total** | **Rs. 18.50 crore (est.)** |

That Sunday number — Rs. 7 crore — is staggering for a Marathi film and shows the kind of momentum that builds when word-of-mouth is genuinely electric.

## Why This Record Matters?

The Marathi film is witnessing far better trends than *Raja Shivaji* in its home state, which means it has chances at even surpassing the epic saga in its full run, at least in Maharashtra. *Deool Band 2* has already surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor, which was released in cinemas in 2015.

Let that sink in. The sequel crossed the **entire lifetime** of the original film in just its opening weekend. That is extraordinary momentum by any measure.

## Blockbuster Verdict on the Horizon?

The devotional comedy drama has set its eye on the blockbuster verdict, given how it performs on weekdays and in the second weekend. Pravin Tarde will continue his no-flop streak at the box office. With the glowing reception of the sequel, the future of this franchise seems very bright.

A director with a no-flop streak. A franchise with a rabidly loyal fanbase. A sequel that has already obliterated the original’s total. The ingredients for an all-time Marathi blockbuster are all there. For more box office updates and Marathi film news, head over to [TechnoSports](https://technosports.co.in).
