Dell is seemingly obsessed with upgrading its latitude series for the major IT event of 2021. Dell Latitude 9410 2-in-1 was launched last year and it seems that this year the OEM has decided to upgrade the series with new features to meet the current market demand.

The model will be the Latitude 9420 and will come in the laptop as well as in 2-in-1 form factors. Both variants feature a similar 14-inch 16:10 display with 500 nits brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. But the 2-in-1 variant will sport a QHD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 DX protection, and Active Pen support.

The Latitude 9420 includes an automatic SafeShutter that closes the webcam when not in use. Users also get to manually shut the webcam and mic with dedicated keys. It is a great initiative from Dell towards users’ privacy. It also has a set of AI-enabled tools to provide better Wi-Fi connectivity, secure logins, and faster auto-wake and lock.

As we all have guessed the new models will come with up to Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake Core i7 processors. The configuration choices are up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x-4266 RAM with dual-NVMe SSD options though Dell has chosen to go the M.2 2230 route this time around.

For connectivity, Dell is offering an Intel AX210 2×2 Wi-Fi 6E card with Bluetooth 5.2 support and an optional choice of Snapdragon X20 4G LTE or X55 5G modems for WWAN connectivity. USB Type-C ports are now getting Thunderbolt 4 upgrade. The Dell Latitude 9420 2-in-1 and laptop versions will be available from March 9. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
