It’s ultra-slim. It boasts an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and an Intel Core i9-11900H. Impressive right? Dell’s new Alienware x15 and x17 are nothing short of engineering marvels! These laptops are a part of Dell’s X-Series gaming laptops. Decorated with some of the most powerful components available, Dell had to re-engineer its cooling system to fit its ultra-slim design and still work above par.
Before getting into the tech, we’d just like to give you a disclaimer: it’s mind-blowing! To begin with, one of the biggest upgrades will be hands down the new Element 31 Thermal Interface Material. It is made using an encapsulated Gallium-Silicone liquid metal compound. It also boasts a quad fan to boost cooling efficiency. This fan is powered by Artificial Intelligence. This AI powers a Smart Fan Control Technology which allows users to individually control each fan.
Other Specs
The Alienware x17 model is powered with the Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake-H Core i9-11980HK. As we mentioned earlier it boasts an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 with a TDP of 165W. It comes with 64GB of DDR4-3466 memory and up to two 2TB M.2 NVME SSDs. The display is a whopping 17.3″ 4K panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 17.3″ FHD panel with a 360Hz refresh rate.
Similarly, the Alienware x15 model powered with the Intel Core i9-11900H and up to 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory boasting the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080. The storage configuration is the same as the x17. The display is a 15.6″ QHD panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 15.6″ FHD panel with a 360Hz refresh rate.
Dell’s ‘Dark Core’ design is meant to reduce screen reflections on the keyboard. The x15 is around 15.9mm in thickness and the x17 is about 20.9mm. The x17 has 100 micro-LEDs and the x15 has 90, providing ample lighting.
Price
The Dell Alienware x15 will be starting from $1,599.99 whereas the Dell Alienware x17 will be starting from $2,099.99. Dell will be releasing the full details of the available configurations on June 15th.
