Dell’s gaming laptops are likely less attractive than their Alienware counterparts. The Dell G-Series, on the other hand, have brought a sliver of that higher-end technology, cooling know-how, and design to the public since their arrival on the scene following the Alienware buy-out. Dell has updated its low-to-mid-range gaming laptop series with some of Intel and Nvidia’s newest mobile CPUs and GPUs.
These laptops, dubbed the New Dell G15 Gaming Laptop Series, only have a 15.6-inch screen. Dell has left the 17.3-inch market to its Alienware brand since the G15 Series supplanted the G Series. Even though you only have one screen size, you can choose from three display panels when configuring your system.
The 15.6-inch FHD 120Hz panel with a maximum brightness of 250 nits is the cheapest option for your screen. Moving up a grade, you may get an FHD 165Hz panel with a full brightness of 300 nits. A QHD 240Hz panel with a full brightness of 400 nits is the most expensive option. These screens are VA type, but be aware that the lowest one has a limited colour spectrum. With the RTX 3070 Ti announcement at the CES 2022 show, graphics options increase on those of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, 3050 Ti, and 3060 of the past. Other vital specifications, like RAM and storage, can be customised. For example, buyers can pick between a poor 8GB single-channel RAM option and a good 16GB dual-channel RAM option. Storage (PCI NVMe) options are equally limited, with capacities ranging from 256GB to 512GB, with 1TB at the top of the scale. Please be aware that if you alter one item in the Dell configurator, other settings will also be required to change. To get more than 8GB of RAM or an RTX 3060 or better, for example, a faster processor must be chosen.
Another thing to remember is that the port selection is affected by the GPU you choose. 1x 3.5 mm jack, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x Power in, 1x RJ45, 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and Type-C ports with DisplayPort with alt mode are included on all systems. The Intel Core i712700H models, on the other hand, have a Thunderbolt 4 compliant USB Type-C connection.
A 720p webcam with digital-array microphones, one headset (headphone and microphone combo) port, stereo speakers 2 x 2.5 W with Realtek ALC3254, dual-array microphones, Qwerty Backlit Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and G-Key, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2×2) Wi-Fi + Bluetooth, 6-Cell Battery, 86WHr, and 240W AC adapter are also included as standard features.
These laptops have a measurement of Height: 26.90 mm (1.06 inch) x Width: 357.30 mm (14.07 inch) x Depth: 272.11 mm (10.74 inch) and weigh between 2.5 and 2.7kg depending on arrangement.
