It took 14 years for Dell to bring back AMD CPUs to Alienware laptops
Dell has finally made the much-awaited Alienware m15 R5 official and has opted for AMD Ryzen processors for the first time. Featuring the new AMD Ryzen 5000H series processors, these laptops are insanely powerful and you either opt for the flagship Ryzen 9 5900HX or Ryzen 7 5800H.
So, you get all 8 Zen 3 cores that deliver superior gaming and productivity performance for everyday gaming and work. While the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX is unlocked to offer up to 4.6 GHz with 45+ watts of power, and the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H offers up to 4.4 GHz clock speeds at 45 watts.
For GPU, you can either opt for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU or the RTX 3070, both with TDP up to 115W along with 10W of dynamic boost. Obviously, these GPUs draw a lot of power; you need to have a proper cooling system for the best results.

You have a lot of display options to choose from, including a 1080p display at 165Hz, a 1080p display at 360 Hz with G-Sync support, however, you will opt for the 1440p display with a 240 Hz refresh rate. The new Dell Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 is available from April 20 in the USA and China with select configurations starting at $1793.98.
