Ever wondered who runs the show behind the scenes?

MLC stands for Member of the Legislative Council.

Serving in India’s permanent Vidhan Parishad, these officials aren't directly elected by voters but represent teachers, graduates, and local bodies.

They wield critical legislative and financial oversight, shaping state laws and fiscal policy.

In 2026, the Council remains the ultimate state-level operating system.
