Declan Rice unhappy with West Ham pricing out £100 million price tag

West Ham United have set a price tag of £100 million for their star midfielder Declan Rice, and the player isn’t very happy about the issue.

Rice wants to win trophies and play Champions League football, and he isn’t getting that opportunity at West Ham United. The Hammers only recently qualified for the Europa League, but it isn’t on the same level as playing in the top tier of European football. The England international is valued at £60 million on Transfermarkt, but West Ham want to keep a hold of their player for this season.

West Ham have not signed any new players this summer, in preparation for the new challenge. And that has not gone down well with Rice, who believes that the club cannot match his ambitions. The Hammers have offered a new contract to the midfielder twice, but he has turned down both their advances.

Rice’s contract with the club expires in 2024, and he could push to leave the club, and West Ham might have to lower their asking price if that situation arises. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in signing the player but have been scared off due to their financial demands for him.

West Ham are still interested in signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United following his impressive loan spell. However, they are yet to match United’s £25 million valuations of the attacking midfielder, who could yet leave the club by the end of the transfer window.
