Daniel Farke and Dean Smith were both sacked by their respective clubs heading into the international break. While Aston Villa have appointed their replacement for Smith in Steven Gerrard, Norwich are yet to confirm the next manager.

As a boyhood Aston Villa fan, Dean Smith did a remarkable job with the club. He helped them return to the Premier League from the Championship and helped them survive the drop in their first season back. Last year, the Midlands club finished 11th in the table.

But now, after losing five consecutive games, Smith has been relieved of his duties. Aston Villa are now 16th the table, and are showing signs of concern on the pitch.

Only six days after leaving Villa Park, Dean Smith has been offered the job at Norwich City. He will be tasked with keeping the winners of the Championship in the Premier League. They most recently earned their first victory against Brentford, away from home. They are, however, still at the bottom of the table.

Dean Smith has reportedly accepted the terms offered by Norwich City and is ready to take charge. He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with the Canaries, after saying that he wanted to return to management immediately.

Former Leicester City and Aston Villa assistant coach Craig Shakespeare is expected to join Smith as his number 2. The contract will be officially signed soon, and an announcement can be expected as soon as within the next 48 hours.
