Roma have officially announced the arrival of Dean Huijsen on a loan deal from Juventus. The move does not include an option to buy, which means the defender will return to the Bianconeri in the summer transfer window when the loan expires.
The youngster has been presented as a new arrival for the Giallorossi and he will be wearing the number 3 shirt for the remainder of the season. The 18-year-old made a name for himself in the Juventus academy, and has been loaned out to Roma as he looks to gain more game time to hone his skills. And under Jose Mourinho, he could gather some very valuable experience in the last six months of the season.
Dean Huijsen officially signs for Roma on loan
“I was immediately impressed by the welcome I received,” Dean Huijsen told Roma’s official website.
“It was not difficult for me to choose Roma. I’m joining a great club with a great coach and many champions with whom I’ll have the privilege of sharing the changing room. I hope that we can achieve our objectives together.”
Huijsen has become the first new signing for Mourinho’s side in the January transfer window. With a Champions League spot the target for the Special One, reinforcements will play an important part in achieving that objective. And it will be interesting to see if the board can manoeuvre around the FFP regulations to bring in new players as the business end of the season approaches.
