With the retirement of Sergio Busquets from international football after the defeat from Morroco in the round of 16, the captaincy post has been empty and up for grabbing it.

Luis De La Fuente selects Alvaro Morata as Spain’s new captain
As Koke and Jordi Alba are not selected for the March international break for Spain that’s why Alvaro Morata is chosen as Spain’s new captain.
Luis De La Fuente has chosen Real Madrid’s right-back Dani Carvajal as the vice-captain of the Spain National Football Team.
Morata has been a key element in Spain’s National Football Team in recent years. He has scored 30 goals in 61 debuts and ranks fifth in Spain’s all-time scorer’s list. In the current season in La Liga Santander also has played well netting 10 goals and 2 goals away from equalizing the previous season’s goal-scoring count.
Morata is undoubtedly the leader in Spain’s attack and hoping that he will make an impact in the upcoming EURO 2024 Championship qualifying matches against Norway and Scotland.
