Just when you thought [DC’](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_(film))s buzz couldn’t get any louder, an old interview has resurfaced pointing to a casting road-not-taken. Turns out Lokesh Kanagaraj’s lead-actor debut might have looked completely different — if one conversation had gone another way.

## DC: Overview

| Detail | Information |
| --- | --- |
| **Film** | DC |
| **Lead Cast** | Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy |
| **Director** | Arun Matheswaran |
| **Production** | Sun Pictures |

## What Sparked the Rumor

In an old interview with Cinema Vikatan, Vijay Deverakonda revealed that director Arun Matheswaran had once approached him for a project. He liked the story but ultimately passed since it overlapped with another film he was already committed to at the time. Fans have connected the dots to DC, though neither Vijay nor Arun Matheswaran has officially confirmed the film in question was DC.

## What DC Is Actually About

The film follows Devadas, a rebel navigating systemic hardships alongside his outlaw crew, whose life changes course after a police confrontation and a chance meeting with Chandra, a woman escaping her own troubled past. It marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut as a lead actor, with Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy playing co-leads.

## Where Vijay Deverakonda Goes Next

Even without DC, Vijay’s slate is stacked. He’s set to star in the period action drama Ranabaali opposite wife Rashmika Mandanna, marking their first film together since marriage, with Arnold Vosloo playing the antagonist. He also has Rowdy Janardhana alongside Keerthy Suresh lined up for December 2026, plus an as-yet-untitled romantic actioner with director Shouryuv.
