Davide Frattesi is emerging as one of the top talents in Serie A. The midfielder scored for Sassuolo against Inter, in their 2-1 loss. His goal equalised for the home team, but was unable to earn a point in the end.
Edin Dzeko completed his brace later on in the game to make it 2-1 and take all three points on the road. But, the 23-year-old is emerging as the next big prospect out of Sassuolo, after the likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Giacomo Raspadori and Jeremie Boga.
Davide Frattesi reveals failed Roma transfer this past summer
“Honestly my preseason sucked,” he told DAZN after the game. “I dreamed of returning to Roma, but it never came about and it left me bitter.”
“Then I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. In order to go to a top club you have to give your best here, and I’m happy to have stayed.”
“Is this my last year at Sassuolo? These are matters that my agent and the sporting director will discuss between themselves.”
Manchester United have been closely linked with the Italian midfielder’s signature. And with the youngster ambitious to join a bigger club, it will be interesting to see where he ends up going.
United aren’t alone in the race, of course, and with three goals in nine appearances, he is starting to make a name for himself domestically.
