Manchester City legend David Silva has extended his contract with Real Sociedad until the end of the 22/23 season. The attacking midfielder joined them in 2020 as a free agent, signing a two-year contract. And now, he has penned a one-year extension with them.
Despite being 36 years old, the iconic midfielder has started in 24 out of 29 games he has played this season. He has scored one goal and provided four assists across all competitions.

The Spaniard won the Copa del Rey with Real Sociedad during his first season with the La Liga club. His presence in the team has helped them continue to fight for European spots in a tight domestic season this year.
“I’ve had two very good years here and we want to finish this one by also qualifying for Europe,” David Silva said upon signing his deal.
“We are playing great games, playing football very well… to continue for another year makes me happy and content.
“Before coming, I already knew that the club was doing well. The team played football well, with (head coach) Imanol (Alguacil)’s style. It is growing a lot and being in the fight for Europe every year is very good.
“My family is very comfortable here and when you go out, the people are charming. In two years, I have made many friends and that has been an important aspect to continue. They make you feel at home and that makes everything easier.”
