Napoli have reached an agreement with Benfica to sign David Neres in a deal worth €30 million including add-ons. The winger is expected to travel to Italy in the coming days to complete his medical and finalise the move.
The 27-year-old is extremely skilled with the ball at his feet, and primarily plays as a right winger. As a result, he will be able to complement Khvicha Kvaratskhelia very well, who prefers playing on the left.

The two clubs were locked in negotiations for weeks, but have finally reached an agreement for the player. The length of his contract and potential salary remain unrevealed as things stand.
Neres has been with Benfica since 2022, having joined them from Shakhtar. He only spent six months with the Ukrainian club, and had to be sold because of Russia’s invasion. Before that, he made a name for himself at Ajax where he spent five seasons.
This past season, the Brazilian scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 35 games across all competitions. And it now remains to be seen how he adapts to life in Napoli upon the completion of his transfer.
Has Neres played for Brazil?
Yes, eight caps.
