Nottingham Forest are all set to complete the signing of Danilo from Brazilian club Palmeiras. They will be paying a sum worth €20 million to recruit him, and he will be completing a medical assessment over the weekend to complete the switch.
He will be reunited with his former teammate, Gustavo Scarpa, at City Ground. The attacking midfielder also made the move from Palmeiras earlier in the January transfer window as a free agent. And Danilo will be playing alongside him in midfield for the latter half of the season.
Nottingham Forest sign Danilo from Palmeiras
Danilo has made more than 130 appearances for Palmeiras over a period of five years. He made his debut as a teenager, and has now said his goodbyes to the fans prior to the move to Nottingham Forest. Arsenal, Chelsea and Monaco had their eyes on the player but he has instead chosen to join Nottingham Forest on a permanent transfer.
The midfielder is expected to arrive in the country today to finalise the transfer, and he will be the second major signing for the club, made by the partnership between Steve Cooper and sporting director Filippo Giraldi.
Danilo won 2 Copa Libertadores, 1 Copa do Brasil, 1 Campeonato Brasileiro, 1 Campeonato Paulista and 1 Recopa during his time with the club. And he is now set for a new challenge in England, as one of the bright young talents in the Forest squad.
