Daniele Rugani is all set to undergo his medical for a transfer to Ajax. The defender will join on a loan deal till 2025, and will become the second-ever Italian player in Ajax’s history once he completes his transfer.
The 30-year-old has been with Juventus since returning from his loan spell at Cagliari in 2021. However, he is now set to leave once again in a bid to revive the Dutch giants after their fall from grace over the last two seasons.

It remains unclear whether Ajax have agreed to include a buy option in their deal with Juventus. But, given that he only recently extended his contract with the Bianconeri till 2026, it seems like a buy option could come into the picture next year as he would have only one year left on his deal next summer.
The Bianconeri are entering a new era under the leadership of Thiago Motta. Several prominent players such as Federico Chiesa have been ruled out of the manager’s plans for the new season. And while there have been several additions to the side this summer, it will take some time for the chemistry to develop.
It now remains to be seen how Daniele Rugani adapts to his new environment in the Netherlands.
