The Welshman was not expected to leave the club earlier, and Jesse Marsch had talked about the same. Daniel James featured regularly last season, making 37 appearances and scoring four goals while providing five assists.

He had attracted interest from Spurs earlier in the window, but no transfer materialised for him. And on deadline day, the Cottagers have won the race to sign the player. He is on his way to London to complete the formalities and will soon be revealed as a new player for them.

Fulham has signed Willian and Layvin Kurzawa alongside Daniel James. They were expected to sign Justin Kluivert from Roma, but the deal collapsed due to him not receiving a work permit from the UK government.
