Real Madrid are keeping tabs on La Masia graduate and RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo over a transfer in the summer. The player is reportedly frustrated over the club’s lack of competition in Europe and domestically, even though they are en route to defending their DFB Pokal title.
His contract runs out in 2024, and there is a good chance that he could push to leave this summer. Madrid will have no problem signing him since they view him as an option for their right wing, where Federico Valverde is being played for the most part.
Dani Olmo a surprise target for Real Madrid this summer
The forward played for La Masia from 2007 to 2014. He eventually left for Dinamo Zagreb, having never made a first team appearance for the Blaugranes. But given their historic rivalry, it would surely be controversial if Dani Olmo were to sign for Los Blancos this summer.
This season, he has scored four goals and provided six assists in 23 games across all competitions. And he is open to the idea of joining the Spanish giants, who might finally make a signing after an unusually inactive transfer window.
Dani Olmo was linked with a return to Barcelona in the recent past, but the move collapsed in the final stages. But if things materialise in favour of Madrid, he could be playing for their eternal rivals from next season.
