Daichi Kamada is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer at the end of the ongoing season. The player is out of a contract in June, and is not expected to sign a renewal. Club director Markus Krosche has revealed that Kamada has a strong chance of leaving the club as a free agent.

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with the player in the past, and are continuing to monitor his situation. They have made a proposal, but haven’t finalised the transfer as of yet. However, they are still considered the favourites to land the Japan international this summer.

Kamada has spent six years with the club, and was an important player as they won the Europa League last season. He has also won the DFB Pokal once, when Frankfurt lifted the trophy in 17/18.

This season, Daichi Kamada has scored 13 goals and provided five assists across 36 games in all competitions. Seven of them have come in the Bundesliga, while all of his assists have also been in the league.

The forward also played all of Japan’s matches at the 2022 World Cup, as they advanced to the quarter finals while defeating Spain and Germany.

Dortmund have already agreed a contract to sign Ramy Bensebaïni as a free agent this summer, and Kamada could be the next to sign for the club on a free deal.
