The Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur-starrer, directed by Shaneil Deo, collected just Rs 50 lakh on its 2nd Tuesday, bringing the total India gross to **Rs 39 crore**. While the number sounds decent on paper, the film’s weak daily trend tells a different story. Trade analysts now expect a final lifetime of around **Rs 45 crore**, which would officially brand it a **flop** at the box office.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for fans who were rooting for this one. The film opened strongly — Rs 8 crore on Day 1, Rs 8.50 crore on Day 2 — but then nosedived with almost no word-of-mouth support to sustain it through the weekdays.

### What Went Wrong?

The film had a solid cast — featuring **Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni**, and others alongside the lead pair. But a romantic action drama lives and dies by audience emotion, and *Dacoit* simply didn’t generate the buzz needed for sustained footfalls.

Understanding [box office dynamics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box_office) helps put this in context — a film typically needs strong 2nd-weekend holds to recover from a mid-week slump. Dacoit, unfortunately, didn’t deliver those numbers.
