Sometimes, even a good-looking cast and a compelling title can’t save a film from the harsh verdict of the box office. *Dacoit: A Love Story* is unfortunately learning that lesson the hard way.

Directed by Shaneil Deo and produced by the prestigious [Annapurna Studios](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annapurna_Studios), the film is now expected to wrap up its entire theatrical run around **₹43 crore gross** — a deeply disappointing number given the scale of its cast and backing.

### A Strong Cast, A Weak Run

*Dacoit: A Love Story* boasted a genuinely exciting ensemble — **Adivi Sesh** and **Mrunal Thakur** in the lead, supported by heavy hitters like **Anurag Kashyap**, **Prakash Raj**, **Sunil**, and **Atul Kulkarni**. On paper, this was a film that had every reason to succeed. The action-thriller blend with a love story at its core should have resonated with Telugu audiences — but it simply didn’t land the way anyone hoped.

The film reportedly could have performed better had the initial audience reception been more positive. Word-of-mouth is everything in today’s box office environment, and *Dacoit* didn’t generate enough of the right kind.

### Conclusion

With ₹39.45 crore in 14 days and dwindling daily numbers, *Dacoit: A Love Story* is heading for a FLOP verdict — a tough outcome for all involved. Both Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur remain bankable stars individually, and this is clearly a one-off setback rather than a career-defining result.
