Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime thriller *Daayra* has only one song in its entire runtime — and the names behind it just got a lot bigger. After Gulzar confirmed he penned the track and Amit Trivedi revealed he composed it, sources now confirm the voice bringing it to life belongs to **B Praak**, the singer behind chart-toppers like *Mitti* and *Ranjha*.

## Daayra: Three Big Names, One Mystery Song

A single song in a full-length film is a bold choice, and pairing it with poet-lyricist Gulzar, composer Amit Trivedi, and B Praak’s soulful vocals makes it impossible to ignore. The makers are staying tight-lipped about the track itself, but the collaboration alone has fans buzzing ahead of the film’s release.

## Why This Song Matters For The Film

Meghna Gulzar isn’t known for stuffing her films with music — she’s known for using it sparingly and letting it carry real emotional weight, the way *Dilbaro* did in *Raazi* or the single track did in *Talvar*. That track record makes *Daayra*‘s lone song feel less like a marketing add-on and more like a deliberate storytelling choice.

The film itself follows two police officers, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, whose clashing ideas of justice pull them to opposite sides of a complex investigation. It’s already trending at the top of IMDb’s most-anticipated list, and its trailer has pulled strong reactions from critics and audiences alike.

Gulzar’s body of work spans decades of Hindi cinema, and his reputation as one of [Bollywood](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bollywood)‘s most revered lyricists only adds to the intrigue around this one mystery track.
