A new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 allows the player to explore previously closed areas of the game and creates a repeating quest. CD Projekt Red’s dystopian RPG is known for its vast open world in the form of Night City, and there is already so much for gamers to explore. Although the game was harshly condemned when it was first released two years ago, particularly on previous-generation platforms, many now believe the title is in much better shape thanks to a series of big fixes.
In reality, CDPR recently announced a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, implying that both the studio and the fan base are now satisfied enough with the current instalment to warrant a sequel. While there is no word on when the sequel will be released, it is safe to presume that the developer has learned from the negative criticism received during Cyberpunk’s initial launch. While players await the next instalment, the modding community has been busy creating all sorts of new content.
As an example, consider Nexus Mods user anygoodname. This user, as seen by DSO Gaming, has released a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that unlocks a section of the game that vanilla gamers cannot access. It specifically provides V access to Megablock’s “inaccessible” Lower Market section. In addition to a new location to explore, the mod includes a recurrent mission that leads to prizes for the player’s Perk Points. However, the description states that the modification is a “limited edition release,” and the creator states that the mod site will most likely be shut down in early January. It is unclear whether this implies it will be deleted from Nexus Mods as well.
There are several intriguing and unique mods for Cyberpunk 2077, such as a reshader that makes the game seem like Doom or one that lets players leave Night City.
Although it is only a barren environment, it demonstrates, along with anygoodname’s mod, that people are eager to extend and explore the already quite large game world.
There’s no disputing that Cyberpunk 2077 has gone a long way since its December 2020 release. That is not to argue that everything is perfect, but it does demonstrate how much work CD Projekt Red put into the game after its initial release.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
